The Roscoe Wind Complex
The
Roscoe Wind Complex is actually four projects in one. All four
phases (Roscoe, Champion, Pyron, and Inadale) are operational making the
complex the largest onshore wind farm in the world, with more
than 600 installed wind turbines capable of generating 781.5 MW.
Roscoe Wind Farm
E.ON’s
first project in dry-land cotton fields helped more than 85 farmers
continue to plant new crops. This project came on line in February,
2008 with 209 Mitsubishi 1 megawatt turbines. Straddling Nolan,
Mitchell and Scurry Counties, this project is the cornerstone of the
Roscoe complex of E.ON projects which make up the world’s largest
land-based wind farm with 781.5 MW of turbines installed.
